Hi,

You are pretty quick with deleting the crap from your forum.
It is my privilege though, being on Dutch time, to sometimes read them before you do. I think the madrid wall paper guy is pretty funny. However, I'm not sure enough of my fire wall 'n stuff to actually click on anything, so I just use my imagination to wonder what would happen if I followed links like
nasty girl carrier zero
and
high school musical idea

Oh my god, lately I'm literally deleting 10 spammers a day, at least.

It's convinced me to re-write the forum myself, since the reason these guys can run their bots so easily is the ubiquitousness of this particular forum software. I write my own, the bots don't work so well. Problem mostly solved.

Now, to find the time...

I'm gonna hijack this thread to memorialize some of my favorite Spammer usernames. Today's inaugural Spammer (soon to be deleted, of course) is:

Spiffy Jamal

When I saw that Spiffy Jamal had signed up, I had a good laugh. Thanks, Spiffy. I needed it. Buh-bye now.

if you install a phpbb mod ... like this one
http://www.phpbb.com/mods/db/index.php?i=misc&mode=display&contrib_id=1693

you'll get a little deletebox next to the username when you as the siteadmin access the memberlist !

Then you don't have to manually copy/paste username from memberlist to the Admin panel membermanagement ...

Wow, thanks Bernt! I just installed that, and it will definitely save me some time cleaning up the spammers everyday.

Of course, the PERFECT mod would be to show every user in the memberlist with a checkbox, and then a "Delete all checked users" button that would let me delete a whole bunch at once.

But I'll take what I can get.
